It seems that Prince Duncan-Williams, a native of Ghana in Africa, currently living in Nevada, has been able to morph and amalgamate some forgotten talents to create dazzling fine art out of rayon threads. His creativity spills over from a intertwining of legend and fact about the reverance of cloth. FACT - Kente cloth was created for kings and worn only during events of sacred or extreme importance. LEGEND - Two friends created Kente cloth. They were hunting in the forest and found a spider making its web. They observed the spider for two days and returned home and got busy weaving strips of dazzling Kente. It is easily identified by multicolored patterns of bright colors, geometric shapes and bold designs. Fusion Art Exhibition: Landscapes and Cityscapes

Main Event: August 23, 2013

The organizer and curator, Renata and Curtiss Cathey, in conjunction with RAT Studio hosted "Landscapes and Cityscapes" at the Janette Kennedy Gallery from August 5 to August 23, 2013 and culminated in an art, wine, and jazz event sponsored by Southern Dallas County and Living Magazine. The Janette Kennedy Gallery is located in the South Side on Lamar building, Dallas, Texas. The main event held on August 23, 2013 was vibrant and festive with over 500 people in attendance. The glass sides of the gallery created the perfect ambience for an open business mixer as well as natural enjoyment of the many musical acts. The main event also featured fashion by designer Sade Wooten, crab cakes by Chef Ken Patrick, wonderful desserts from Mygi's Bakery, and Vandall Andrews with his jazz saxophone play. This exhibition displayed original and limited-edition prints from 14 local and international artists including Mark Crow, Treva Gilkey, and Geetha Ramasesh.
